About Typecast

ABOUT KRISTEN COLLINS | Founder + CEO

Working on movie premieres and gala fundraisers in New York City was all it took to get hooked on the incredibly gratifying world of professional events management. But I’ve actually been producing exceptional events since I was a little girl. I wish you could have seen the amazing cast party I threw after my 10-year old sister’s thought-provoking production of The Sound of Music held in our backyard.

I’ve learned from and worked for some of the nation’s most sought after corporate events teams across the global pharmaceutical and financial services industries. Large scale and complex product launches, incentive trips, sales meetings, trade shows, team building and charitable experiences, executive retreats, road races…I’ve planned them all and everything in between.

Having worked in film and television as an actor, casting associate, assistant to the news director, production associate, script supervisor, and second assistant director on several independent films and theatrical productions gives me a unique perspective.

What I love most about producing events is that feeling you get after creating something truly amazing out of a simple, back-of-the-envelope idea, making order out of chaos, collaborating and brainstorming with experts, problem-solving, and most importantly, helping people connect. In a post-pandemic world, human connection is essential – now more than ever.

Based near Boston, MA, I partner with industry-leading professionals from across the U.S. to create world-class meetings and events that connect and engage attendees, foster relationships, increase brand awareness and grow business, and enhance a company’s overall well being.

ABOUT TYPECAST

According to Webster’s, typecast is a verb: To cast (an actor or actress) in a part calling for the same characteristics as those possessed by the performer; to cast (an actor or actress) repeatedly in the same type of role.

What we have embraced is a new definition of typecast: To mean that the performer is simply so good in that role that there’s almost no one else who can do it better.

That’s how I feel about the work that we do. Companies large and small hire Typecast because there’s no one they trust more to get it done.
